The Vampire Sound Inc.
aka The Vampires' Sound Incorporation
Vampyros Lesbos is a 1971 film directed by Jesus Franco. It's an erotic horror tale inspired by Bram Stoker's novel Dracula. The main character, Linda Westinghouse (played by Ewa Strömberg), is a young lawyer who travels on a job assignment to an island where she meets the mysterious young and beautiful countess Carody (Soledad Miranda).
The film is considered by many to be one of Franco's best and a cult classic of European Exploitation film. Its score, composed by Manfred Hübler and Siegfried Schwab also gained a cult following when it was rereleased.

This "Sexadelic Dance Party" of a disc has become a cult item in clubs around the world. Its perverse fusion of psychadelic rock and jazzy lounge gives it a distinctive sound. There's always a groovy beat, fuzz guitar, tight funky drumming and jammin' keys. Despite the title, the disc actually comprises soundtrack material for three of Jess Franco's deliriously bad but strangly entrancing films, including Vampyros Lesbos, She Kills in Ecstasy and The Devil Came from Akasava — originally released in the late 60s/early 70s. The music, undoubtedly, is a big part of their appeal. In fact, Quentin Tarantino used one of the tracks in Jackie Brown, albeit to dubious effect. There's also a remix disc by today's electro artists, entitled The Spirit of Vampyros Lesbos, on Sideburn (Crippled Dick's electronic division). Read more on Last.fm.
